But aside from that, this article does bring up an interesting dilemma for Sony. Even though Sony was correct in bringing in the superior product to the table; MS seems to have played the better business game on them by painting them into this corner by coming out to the market first. ...

You obviously don't understand the business end of it. Even though MS is selling there consoles for less, they are making a profit on every console sold. This is opposite of Sony, which is selling every console at a loss, even though they sell it for more money.
So even though Sony's current format is GREAT for us gamers, it's not good for there profit margin. =)
Dumb question??? Nothing can kill any successful product because. the better question is....can it compete with it at a real level. and the answer to that is probably....it has a very good chance! =)

But Kudos to both companies. Sony for being able to sell so many units worldwide, even with a high price-point and props for MicroSoft for gaining the marketshare everyone thought was impossible, especially after how the PS2 dominated last generation.

Damn....I can already tell what they game will be. It's gonna be a Gladiator battle game using Kinect. You'll be able to use swords, spears, shields, etc..... It'll probably all take place in an arena, and will probably have some deadly obstacle courses involved as well.
As a Kinect owner, I'm EXCITED to have a hardcore game to play, as I like the concept. But as a 360 owner, I was wishing for more a deeper type of game. Oh well, let's hope for the BE...

There is nothing wrong with the Kinect attracting a casual crowd because some of those casual fans will bring in future Hardcore users.
Be honest, when you FIRST started gaming was it a hardcore game or a casual game?? Because most of us started with the Super Mario's/ Sonic's and Pokemon's of the world. NOT HARDCORE TITLES!!! We then moved to what we are today.
Plus, Kinect games are fun when played with groups of friends! No serious person eve...
I got Kinect as a present for Christmas.....and it was AWESOME for what it is!! A 100% replacement for a control it is not; but for something fun to do with groups of friends it can't be beat!!!
I can not tell you how much fun everyone was having as we competed against each other while drinking and eating that day. Since then, we've set up Kinect party days and it's been just as fun. And now some of those friends have gone out and bought a Kinect as well.
